بِسْمِ الله
“Bismillah”
Every footstep towards the Masjid is a testimony of my existence in this life
لا إله إلا ٱللَّٰهُ محمد رسول ٱللَّٰهِ
“La ilahaa illa Allah Wa Muhammad Rasoul Allah”
Words of remembrance said out loud for my creator and his creation to hear me
لا إله إلا ٱللَّٰهُ محمد رسول ٱللَّٰهِ
“La ilahaa illa Allah Wa Muhammad Rasoul Allah”
I walk toward Allah’s protection
carrying my cloak of humility with me
holding on to my misbaha
remembering remembering remembering
Each time said I would be a bead closer to the beginning of my remembrance.
Because I never stopped remembering.
ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ
“As-Salaamu Alaykum,”
Greetings of peace upon you
وَعَلَيْكُم ٱلسَّلَامُ
“Wa Alaykum As-Salaam,”
A reciprocal greeting of peace upon you
Five times a day, I unfolded my Imaan to my master.
Each time I grabbed my prayer mat and stood toward my inventor
Side by side
Foot by foot
Elbow to Elbow
We Lined up
my Ummah together
and the Angels in Awe stood behind us
Veiled in Noor
للّٰهُ أَكْبَر
“Allahu Akbar”
We declared together
Synchronized and in Symphony
Echoed by Al MalaEka
Transcended to the Heavens
I felt the ground tremble under my feet
Allah’s presence in close proximity in front of me
Closer to me than my jugular vein
We nervously knelt down
Collectively bowing to Al-Malik
Worshipping
Him
And
Him
Alone
With nothing but myself to offer him
